Central East Texas region covers the Savanna Woodland, Central Plains, and Cross Timbers ecoregions. The region is in southeastern Oklahoma and North of Red River Valley. This area has a temperate climate with hot summers and mild winters.
This region was home to Native Americans who lived off the land. In 1839, the first settlers arrived in the region. Many people came here to farm. Others came to work in the lumber mills. Today, there are still farms and small towns in the region.
