Mason County, TX is a rural county named after Fort Mason. The fort lies within the Edwards plateau. 

Mason County was founded in 1858. McCulloch County neighbors the county to the north, San Saba County to the NorthEast, Gillespie County in the South, and Kimble County to the southeast. Llano and Menard Counties share the borders with Mason County in the East and West. 

Mason City is the County seat of Mason county which is home to most county officials. It lies within 2414 square kilometers.  

Mason County Offices 

The county officials incorporated in the county offices are the county judge, county clerk, county assessor/tax collector, sheriff, county treasurer, attorney, and justice of the peace.

In addition, the county treasurer, who goes by Polly McMillan, and her assistant Ally Yoker have the county finances in their hands. Mason County Employment Opportunities 

The county is at the forefront of spearheading new job opportunities. It comes from the 4.9% unemployment rate, which has been heavily influenced by the pandemic that is still wreaking havoc in the world today.  

The Road and Bridge department tops the list to look for a road and bridge mechanic. They are expected to repair electrical, air conditioning, fuel, hydraulic brake, and cooling systems, and repair diesel and gas engines.
