Through state legislation, Falls County was formed from Milam and Limestone County on the 28th of January, 1958. The county gets its name from Brazos falls that are within the county. The boundaries have remained the same since the county was created. Since most of the inhabitants lived East of the river, most people voted for Marlin as the county seat. 

Falls county originated from Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Marlin remains as the largest town and the seat of the county. It houses government offices and major businesses in the county.

Texas Musicians Museum-Texas is known for its distinguished country music and vast heritage of music. All this heritage is displayed at the Texas Musicians Museum located in Waxahachie. Texan Music is displayed at the Rogers Hotel with actual outfits, musical awards, music documents, and classical instruments used by Texas music legends.

Sam Rayburn Wildlife Viewing-This is a wildlife viewing park with animals such as fox, deer, bobcat, bats, and other mammals visible during the daytime. Deers are mostly seen during the day at Jackson Hill, Powell, and the Rayburn Parks. 

1923 Highway 90 Bridge- This bridge is worth visiting as it crosses the famous Colorado River. Though Columbus can be accessed via various bridges, the most spectacular and interesting one is the Highway 90 bridge. Its location is a historic site as it is a crossing for Austin Colony, which became a hotspot for Columbus City.
