Anderson County has a population of 57,810 residents and a population density of 54 persons per sq. mile. The population’s median age is 39.1 compared to the national average of 37.4. Most inhabitants in the county are white non-Hispanic (58.9%), followed by Black people (20.9%)

The EMS provides services 24/7 and boasts about a hundred employees, forty of them being full-time.  

Whenever there are community and corporate events, the Emergency Medical Services team provides cover and educational service on basic medical care like administering CPR. 

The Palestine Regional Medical Services joins hands with law enforcement personnel in the annual ‘Safety Town’, a Palestine Rotary Club program. The program aims to enlighten children about the importance of ambulances in the Anderson County community.

• Howard House Museum 

The Howard House Museum was built in1848 by Justice Reuben A. Reeves. George R. Howard later bought it when Reuben left Texas. The Palestine Government bought it in 1964. In 1993, it was listed under the National Register of Historic Places. 

• Davey Dogwood Park 

When in Anderson County, go on a hike and nature trail in the Davey Dogwood Park. It has plenty of dogwood trees.

The Antioch Baptist Church was built in the 1800s. It was the first Black Church in Palestine. Visit for a Biblical musical experience. 

• Texas State Railroad 

The main attraction in Palestine! The Texas State Railroad is twenty-five miles. It goes through pine forests and rolling hills.
